Representation Summary:

Any additional development at Bruntingthorpe industrial estate would result in increased traffic levels. Given that the road network serving the estate is rural and poor quality then any increase will impact on the local area. The policy explanation fails to state that the estate is accessed via an entrance on Mere Road. Heavy goods vehicles and high levels of traffic therefore use Mere Road which is a narrow rural road not designed for such traffic. The entrance to Mere Road should be closed and all traffic should be forced to use the main entrance on Bath Lane.

Heavy goods vehicles and high levels of traffic therefore use Mere Road which is a narrow rural road not designed for such traffic. Highway improvements would be inappropriate given that the industrial estate is located in a rural setting.
