The proposed additional development of up to 70,000 sq. metres for non rail-served strategic storage and distribution is, in my opinion, unsustainable as it will increase traffic congestion, air pollution and have a detrimental effect on the surrounding countryside. Magna Park is already a huge development and if this goes ahead, it will double in size. Surely this level of expansion is completely unnecessary as we have neither the road infrastructure to cope, nor the need in this area for the enormous number of jobs that would be created as unemployment is extremely low in the Lutterworth area.. Magna Park employers already have difficulty in recruiting.
