My main reason for objection would be on the grounds of accessibility. David Wilson homes have advised that they plan to provide access through the top of Kingston Way, this is a road that is already unaccessible at times in the winter and many residents have to resort to leaving their cars at the bottom of the hill or on Alvington Way. The width of the road at the moment causes problems as there are a number of cars parked curbside and they make access very difficult. Add to this in excess of 200 more cars and this road would become very hazardous particularly to the many elderly and very young residents. There are no shops or other amenities close by so car usage is very high.
In the interest of good development i understand that the density should reduce the further from amenities that you get however this clearly would not be the case with this number of houses on this site.
Drainage is already an issue with this field and in the event of heavy rainfall the road flood badly at the junction of Kingston Way and Bates Close, this can only get worse post development.
Finally I would like to know why local residents who will be so adversely affected by this development were not advised of its late inclusion in the local plan ?
