Regulation 19 - Proposed Draft Local Plan Submission
MP1
Representation ID: 13124
Received: 04/05/2025
Respondent: Ullesthorpe Parish Plan Group
Legally compliant? No
Sound? No
Duty to co-operate? No
Proposal will completely dominate/be overbearing on Ullesthorpe
No evidence of need or consultation
LCC do not approve of the plan because of the lack of evidence/policies re traffic
Very poor consultation with residents who will be affected by the development - road show inadequate, no leaflets, this online consultation very difficult to navigate
Eliminate of drastically reduce the size of the MP expansion - keeping it away from Ullesthorpe village.
If there is more development provide an area of separation between Ullesthorpe and Magna Park
Fully investigate the need for this development on the current site and develop proper traffic and other policies to ensure it can function properly without further detriment to Ullesthorpe residents and the nature of the village (it is a village not a small town)
The plan feels very rushed with little or no consideration for the impact on the local, county and regional areas. I see no evidence of consultation with other authorities, affected communities (this consultation is far from accessible for the majority of residents) and need for more floorspace when the existing Magna Park still has capacity. This further development at Magna Park will completely dominate the village of Ullesthorpe and reduce to space between MP and the village to virtually nothing. I understand that Leicestershire County Council have not give their approval to the proposal to expand MP because there are no plans for improving the road structure and other putting place other relevant policies. The A5 is already the subject of scrutiny because it does not have the capacity for the current traffic flow. I left Ullesthorpe earlier this week and I queued for 10 minutes before I could get onto the A5 - something that is quite normal now. The impact of the various developments around Ullesthorpe are totally disproportionate and the consultation has been very poor. The roadshow gave no emphasis to the major impact on Ullesthorpe, people on duty were not able to explain what was happening around Ullesthorpe and people in the village did not receive any information about the plan. Give the disproportionate impact on Ullesthorpe I feel that there should be special/specific consultations with residents.
