(4) Chapter 1 Introduction to the Open Spaces Strategy

1.1. Good quality open spaces, country side and street scene make for a better quality of life for residents.

1.2. Networks of well cared for and well designed open spaces add to the character of places where we want to live, work, play and visit. Green spaces also provide the green infrastructure that enables communities to deal with floods or combat climate change whilst providing wildlife habitats, open spaces for amenity, recreational, sporting facilities and beautiful parks.

1.3 The Open Spaces Strategy is currently in draft format. We are seeking comments through this consultation to inform the final version of the Strategy. Comments can be made where the pencil icon is shown throughout this document.
