New Local Plan Options

Q1. Do you have any comments on the Draft Vision?

Representation ID: 4821

Received: 30/10/2015

Respondent: Wheatcroft Properties Ltd

Agent: Pegasus Planning Group

Representation Summary:

The vision is supported, particularly in relation to the importance of providing further employment opportunities in larger villages through appropriate allocations.
The NPPF advises that local plans should be drawn up over an appropriate time scale, preferably a 15-year time horizon, should take account of longer term requirments and be kept up to date. Given that a key component of the evidence base, the Leicester and Leicestershire Strategic Housing Market Assessment, looks forward to 2036 as well as 2031, we consider that it would be more appropriate for the new Local Plan to look forward to 2036, giving greater certainty and avoiding the need for an early review.

Q3. Which Housing and Employment Option(s) do you favour? You can select a single option, a number of options or suggest a new option. You can also tell us which options you don't like.

Representation ID: 4822

Received: 30/10/2015

Respondent: Wheatcroft Properties Ltd

Agent: Pegasus Planning Group

Representation Summary:

Wheatcroft properties Ltd has interests in land at Marlborough Way Fleckney which is identified for allocation an employment site across all the options presented. The proposed allocation is supported. It represents a logical extension to the existing employment land off Churchill Way, relates well to the existing settlement form and would not impact on wider landscape setting of the village. We have no specific comment or preference in relation to the options presented.

Representation Summary:

The settlement hierarchy is supported. This appropriately identifies Fleckney as one of seven rural centres, reflecting their good sustainability credentials and ability to provide a focus for new housing and employment development in the rural parts of the district.

Representation ID: 4824

Received: 30/10/2015

Respondent: Wheatcroft Properties Ltd

Agent: Pegasus Planning Group

Representation Summary:

This is generally supported, however it is important that the Council makes specific allocations for new housing and employment land to provide the necessary certainly for developers and to ensure that sufficient land is identified to meet requirments. The proposal to allocate some 3 hectares of land at Marlborough Way, Fleckney is supported.
