New Local Plan Options

Option 1: Rural

Representation ID: 2649

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is not supported because it would focus development in rural centres and rural villages which are least able to sustain the numbers of dwellings proposed.

Option 2: Core Strategy Distribution

Representation ID: 2652

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is not supported because it would require a large proportion of the 30% of new dwelling to be provided in the rural area to be provided in Fleckney which would put additional pressure on existing services and fundamentally change the nature and character of the Village.

Option 3: Urban

Representation ID: 2661

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is supported because it will provide the majority of new dwelling in Market Harborough and the other urban centres which are best able, with their existing services and infrastructure, to absorb the numbers proposed. The remaining 20% allocated to the rural centres and villages will have much less of an impact on services and will not change significantly the character and nature of the rural centres and villages where the dwellings are to be provided.

Option 4: Scraptoft / Thurnby SDA

Representation ID: 2664

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is not supported as it would provide for the largest number of dwelling to be provided in the Scraptoft, Thurnby, Busby SDA which would have a significant impact on this part of the district and on existing services.

Option 5: Kibworth SDA

Representation ID: 2666

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is not supported because it would have a significant impact on services and infrastructure in Kibworth and would fundamentally change the character and nature of the Village with such a large number of new dwellings. It would also have an impact on neighbouring villages, particularly Fleckney, which uses many of the services available in Kibworth.

Option 6: Lutterworth SDA

Representation ID: 2668

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is not supported as it would require the largest number of new dwelling to be provided in Lutterworth which would put an unnecessary strain on local services and infrastructure when Market Harborough is much better placed to take a higher proportion of new dwellings.

Option 7: Scraptoft / Thurnby SDA and Kibworth SDA

Representation ID: 2673

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is not supported because it will provide the largest number of new dwelling in Kibworth and will fundamentally change the character and nature of the Village. Other options have a much more fairer distribution between the urban centres and rural areas and will provide a more sustainable and acceptable solution.

Option 8: Scraptoft / Thurnby SDA and Lutterworth SDA

Representation ID: 2678

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is not supported because of the large numbers of new dwellings proposed for Lutterworth and Scraptoft, Thurnby and Busby. If the provision of new housing is to have an urban focus Market Harborough is best placed to take the largest number of new dwellings and this should be reflected in the distribution.

Option 9: Lutterworth SDA and Kibworth SDA

Representation ID: 2679

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: FLECKNEY Parish Council

Representation Summary:

This option is not supported because it will provide the majority of new dwellings in Kibworth and Lutterworth. The proposal for Kibworth will fundamentally change the character and rural nature of the Village and will have a significant impact on services. The number of new dwellings in Lutterworth is excessive when considering Market Harborough is best placed to take a much higher number of new dwelling having the greatest range of services and facilities and good transport links.
