New Local Plan Options

Q1. Do you have any comments on the Draft Vision?

Representation ID: 2766

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: BILLESDON Parish Council

Representation Summary:

Agree in principle, but would emphasis on urban development as opposed to rural development. Concerned about the phrase "with vibrant towns and large villages" above. There is a place for sl=maller villages such as Billesdon in future plans,

Respondent: BILLESDON Parish Council

Representation Summary:

With respect to Billesdon, anything other than a minimal increase in our Neighbourhood Plan housing conclusion would be highly detrimental to the village in many ways - lack of scope for increased infrastructure, no scope for handling increased traffic in the already highly congested village centre, and a "slap on the face" to the whole notion of a conservation area. After the huge amount of work involved in preparing and agreeing our Neighbourhood Plan, any significant changes would highly devalue the importance of this document.

Representation Summary:

In relation to the needs of the Harborough district as a whole, we believe that creating concentrated areas of housing development ( Scraptoft, Kibworth, Harborough, Lutterworth) is the best approach. The proposals focused on Lutterworth, with its motorway access, employment prospects, infrastructure development opportunities etc. are a more realistic way forward in planning new housing developments comprehensively, rather than the piecemeal approach of many of the options.

Representation ID: 2793

Received: 29/10/2015

Respondent: BILLESDON Parish Council

Representation Summary:

The Billesdon Neighbourhood Plan is only 12 months old. Local facilities are already stretched with inadequate infrastructure to support a significant increase in housing over and above that in the Plan. Concentrating housing development in Urban areas is our strongly preferred option.

We strongly believe that urban development is the best approach. Billesdon's infrastruture is already stretched and would not support any futher houising other than than that set out in its recent Neighbourhood Plan.
