The Frank Whittle traffic island is not fit for purpose now, let alone with all the planned developments in and around Lutterworth. A recent minor traffic hiccup on this island closed the M1 in both directions within an hour. The effect of a recent change of use from Offices to Warehousing granted to a new development between this island and M1 J19 island are yet to be felt. Traffic lights will not fix it.
