The East of Lutterworth SDA proposes to allocate a portion of a land for a replacement indoor sports centre for the town. It will be accessible to a large proportion of the population by walking, cycling or public transport. Therefore, given that this facility will serve the entirety of the town, it is suggested that criterion 3 of HC2 is revised to ensure that proposals will be acceptable that are accessible to the majority of the community by means other than a private car rather than solely by pedestrian routes.
The East of Lutterworth SDA proposes to allocate a portion of a land for a replacement indoor sports centre for the town, as the existing facility is at capacity with limited opportunity for quantitative and qualitative improvements. This would be more in accordance with Sport England guidance on new sports provision which recognises differing catchment distance based on transport mode.

The term permitted does not indicate any supported or conscious effort to achieve a more active population.
The emphasis of the section appears to be on the maintenance of existing facilities without reference to addressing long standing deficits in provision.

Broughton Astley has planning permission for a new Leisure Centre which will be central to the village and within walking distance for most people. It is also planned to share land and parking with a Medical Fecility. Where is this recognised and where is the support from the District council?
