New Local Plan Options

Representation ID: 1154

Received: 20/10/2015

Respondent: Barratt Homes/David Wilson Homes

Representation Summary:

A wide range (0-1200 dwellings) is outlined, However, concern is expressed over Options 3, 4, 6 and 8 which effectively rule out any additional housing (over and above existing commitments) in Kibworth up to 2031 !

Options 5, 7 and 9 are welcomed, in terms of scale of provision, although concern is expressed over the intended location of the SDA and delivery ruling out smaller scale development on the edge of Kibworth.

Option 2 is too low and does not reflect Kibworth's sustainability credentials. Neither does Option 1, which is welcomed, but should be treated as a minimum.level of additional provision.

Respondent: David Wilson Homes East Midlands

Representation Summary:

Additional housing in the Kibworths is supported. The Kibworths are a highly sustainable settlement and proposals for 1,200 additional homes (Options 5, 7 and 9) support Kibworths position in the Settlement Hierarchy and plans positively for necessary future growth. Options 3, 4, 6 and 8 effectively ruling out additional housing in Kibworth to 2031 is considered to be contrary to the aims of the Draft Vision, and the Settlement Hierarchy. Whilst the allocation of 208 homes in Option 1 is welcomed, this figure is too low. Should Option 1 be chosed, 208 must be a minimum figure.
